Hat's off to Barb!

This page is a contribution to Barb Mast - our Leader and friend for 12 years!

Here's what our Leader's and Advisory Board had to say:

*Leader's and Advisory Board Memoirs*

"Barb has helped our club by implementing changes that are leading us to change our ways of how things are done.  She always had a calm way of handling disruptions.  She will be greatly missed and has left a lasting impression.  Thank you Barb for all you have done."
 ~ Kathy Flagger

"Barb I sincerely regret the oversight that you were not honored at the Dog Club banquet.  I feel that you have been a great asset to dog club over the past 12 years.  I think back over the 10 years my daughter was in Dog Club and you were always very helpful and friendly to everyone.  I know you were a big help to JoAnna as her assistant and I am sure she was able to retire knowing that  you were very competent for the job.  I feel very fortunate that you had requested for me to become an assistant leader in dog club.  Along with that I have been very greatful for all the tips and help you have given to me this past year.  I will miss your knowledge and input at the board meetings. I sincerely wish you the best in the future." ~ Shirley Ganger

"Cool as a cucumber"...that is how I would describe Barb.  Outwardly, she never appeared rattled; even when a parent was coming unglued about something that happened during training.  In any situation, she made sure to listen to both sides and handle it fairly. My hat's off to Barb for staying so calm when most of the time this club can be anything but calm. Just remembering everything that needs to be done not to mention the tons of paperwork involved is enough to make someone just a little crazy (as I am quickly
finding out). The club has been very fortunate to have Barb at the helm for so many years and she will truly be missed.

When we started Dog Club many years ago, I had no idea what we were getting in to!  Barb was always there when we had questions!  Through the years I have observed how she handled different situations, and I have always been impressed with her calm and diplomatic way of approaching all of them.  Because of her example I try to look at each situation as "What would Barb do?"  She and all of her knowledge and experience will truly be missed in the club.  I also hope she can find it in her heart to forgive us, and to keep in touch with us.  Thank you is not a big enough word Barb, really.
~ Mary Bainter

"You will be truly missed! You helped this club improve to the best of its cappabilities. When I first started Dog Club, I did not know how much it actually took to run and organize such a club as this one. Well I was wrong! It takes lots & lots of work and you helped the best that you could. Kudos to you! Remember, you set the tone Barb; you set the tone."   ~ Nathan Wales

Barb, Thank you for all your time and dedication to 4H and our kids.  You have    inspired us to be better leaders and people in general.  Thank you so much.  ~ Bessie Huneyager

"We want to thank Barb for her time she has spent with Dog Club! Thanks Barb!"       ~ The Manges Family
